Gotta hand it to the guy for being able to convince so many people that he was a Christian while he ignored the New Testament and the words of Jesus (you know, all that stuff about loving, not judging, one another, a book about our responsibility to the less fortunate and a reminder to be grateful for all that is given), and all while chasing the almighty dollar and endless narcissistic power.
Gotta hand it to the guy for his ugly, narrow-minded honesty, and it's just a shame that the Ralph Reeds (at least before he was exposed as the hypocritical fraud all those uber-rightwing anything-but-Christian "Christians" are) and James Dobsons stepped in to put more finesse to their collective brand of hate. I much prefer the clumsy, out-of-the-closet variety. The irony of his supporting Reagan, the non-Christian, over the actual Christian, Carter, for president is not lost on me.
Nonetheless, I wish his family peace and choose to pray for his soul, as it is in serious jeopardy and has been for decades. While Karma would dictate that he comes back as a gay feminist Muslim liberal with a law degree and a job at the ACLU, who fornicates on a whim, I nevertheless hope he returns in his next life a much better human being: one that chooses to pray, for example, for something other than vacancies on the Supreme Court that Bush Junior can fill. He's got a lot to fix and even more to make up for.
As an unreconstructed segretationist and apartheid lover even into the 1980's, gotta love his consistency. While his Telletubby rant solidifies his place as a moonbat, there's no need to expound on his legacy -- Jerry did the work for me.
