Madrid to Santa Fe, or why St. Louis starts sucking even more

On to Santa Fe and the Eldorado Hotel. I was responsible for booking this leg of the trip, and I had a devil of a time finding a place to sleep. I had no idea at the time, but the weekend we went was the Wine and Chile Festival. I was informed by reliable sources (Okay, one source -- my good friend who is from Amarillo and knows Santa Fe) that it was great fun.
I went through every listing in Fodor's and came up empty. No Bed and Breakfast to be had. So, I try the Eldorado. They have a deal where we get free champagne one night, so I book.
I highly recommend the Eldorado. It is just lovely. We get a nice room, king bed, little sitting area, and nice bath (Picture 1).

We rest up, then go to the bar downstairs for a drink. I have a delicious margarita, Andrew opts for Bookers. We wander around downtown Santa Fe, scoping out things to revisit in the morning, places to make dinner reservations tomorrow, and whatnot. We are surrounded by pretentious jerks sipping wine. We can't get reservations at the Inn of the Anasazi or practically any other place. By now I'm starving, and we end up at The Blue Corn Cafe (Picture 2).
I have a vegetarian fry bread taco, with black beans, guacamole (my FAVORITE), cheese, and other yummy stuff. And a not so good margarita. Andrew got something with meat and a beer. Always one to branch out, that man.
I spy a desk in a window I'd LOVE to have in my office (Picture 3). Be it RESOLVED: I shall visit Carpinteros the morrow.
