Towards Farmington

We travel through the Jicarilla Apache reservation and along the San Juan River. I am told it's good for fly fishing.

The scenery up here in the plateau isn't as breathtaking as it was in the earlier legs of the trip. Andrew dislikes it, but I see the beauty of the mesa. And, I can't help remembering that idiot Tim McCarver referring to Albert Pujols once as a "mesa." I'm not kidding.

We roll into Farmington. It appears to be like any other town of the Carbondale, Edwardsville size (it appears to be roughly 40,000 or so). Our friendly GPS directs us to our next bed, at the Casa Blanca Inn.

I highly recommend the Casa Blanca. It's just lovely. (Pics) Our room is a small suite with a stocked kichenette, separate sitting area, king bed, and a bathroom with heated tiles and an open shower. And the grounds are well tended and peaceful.
